25 November 2004 – Winners of Visionary Design Awards 2004 Announced
The National Library for the Blind (NLB) announced the winners of this year's Visionary Design Awards at a prestigious dinner in London last night, hosted by Loyd Grossman. Awards were presented to eight UK websites for their outstanding efforts in ensuring their websites are accessible to visually impaired people.
“These awards are incredibly important. We estimate that less than a third of all websites are accessible to visually impaired people and our challenge to web designers and publishers is to create sites which are attractive and informative, but also comply with the Disability Discrimination Act by being accessible too.” Helen Brazier, Chief Executive of the NLB
