21 April 2005 – Inspired by Accessibility
Wendy Chisholm, a Web accessibility specialist for the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), has written a great piece for Digital Web Magazine: Innovative Design Inspired by Accessibility. Her article is an encouraging testament to the fact that accessible design is an effective stimulus for innovation. Of particular interest is the section entitled A growth opportunity, which discusses one of the major benefits of accessible Web design and how it will become increasingly important in the future.
15 April 2005 – Report Focuses on Accessibility of Political Party Websites
Nicely coinciding with the lead up to the UK general election, AbilityNet have released their latest “State of the eNation” report focusing on the accessibility of the UK political party websites. Labour were the highest scorers, earning “four out of five stars”.
