Technical Accessibility

This site has been built using techniques based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set out by the Web Accessibility Initiative. All pages aim to be accessible to WCAG Double-A standard or better according to our interpretation of the guidelines.

Note: The information on this page may be updated from time to time.

Tested for Accessibility

This site has been tested for accessibility issues throughout its development using both automated and manual checks. However, the site does not carry any compliance badges from automated accessibility testing tools such as the familiar “Bobby Approved” icon (Bobby™ is now part of Watchfire® WebXACT).

Testing for accessibility with automated tools can only be used as part of a testing process as there are many human elements that software tools are unable to evaluate. Oftentimes, sites that pass automated testing will claim to be accessible without performing important manual checks. Consequently, we believe that compliance icons lead to misrepresentation of Web accessibility.

Also, it is often not appropriate to test once and be done with accessibility — an ongoing process is required to ensure accessibility. You need more than words or badges to claim an accessible website, which is why we provide practical information about the accessibility of this site and a way to contact us should you encounter any problems.

See our related links for more information on Web accessibility testing.

Logical Tabbing Order

This site does not make use of tabindex attributes to specify a tabbing order through elements of the pages. The site is designed to have a logical structure, which means that a browser's default tabbing order should be adequate for navigating using a computer keyboard.
